MCI Academy Opens New University-Certified Programmes on 5 October
International medical assistance is a field where people often learn through experience. Case management, patient communication, medical coordination and cross-border logistics are part of everyday operations, but they are not always covered in traditional education.
This is one of the reasons MCI Group created The MCI Academy: to turn the Group’s operational experience into structured training that can support both new professionals and experienced teams.
On 5 October 2026, a new intake of MCI Academy programmes will begin, including courses certified through PUCMM-TEP and UTAMED. The Academy currently offers training in international medical assistance, prevention and emergencies and health and nursing.
Training built around the realities of international assistance
The MCI Academy grew from MCI Group’s own experience training operational teams. Over time, that internal learning model developed into a platform where professionals can study situations closely connected to their daily work.
Courses combine online learning with practical cases and applied activities. The aim is simple: help participants understand not only the concepts behind international assistance, but also how those concepts are used when managing patients, coordinating providers or dealing with cases across countries.
For assistance companies and insurers, the Academy also provides a way to give employees a more consistent training path. Organisations can use the programmes for onboarding, role development or continued professional training while employees study online from different locations.
The Microcredential in International Medical Assistance
One of the main programmes available in English is the Microcredential in International Medical Assistance, certified by UTAMED.
The programme consists of four courses covering Foundations of International Medical Assistance, Operational Case Management in International Medical Assistance, Human-Centred Care for International Patients and Intercultural Medical Communication and International Medical Coordination and Global Healthcare Logistics.
Each course can be taken separately, which allows professionals and organisations to choose the training most relevant to a specific role. Participants who complete the full four-course pathway receive the corresponding university certification, while the complete programme is also offered under a reduced package rate compared with taking the courses individually.
The pathway is particularly relevant for assistance companies that want to prepare new case managers, coordinators and other operational staff, as well as professionals who already work in the sector and want to strengthen their knowledge in areas such as patient support, intercultural communication, medical coordination and healthcare logistics.
Training options for different teams
The Academy also includes programmes for other professional profiles. Current study areas cover first aid and emergency preparedness, healthcare and nursing development and international medical assistance, allowing organisations to select training according to the responsibilities of different teams. Corporate enrolment options are available for organisations wishing to train groups of employees.
The next intake begins 5 October 2026.
