Building Global Talent: MCI Group Welcomes Interns Through Collaboration with The Intern Group

At MCI Group, we believe that international medical assistance is not only about coordinating care across borders. It is also about building bridges between cultures, institutions, and future professionals. We are pleased to share the beginning of a meaningful collaboration with The Intern Group, a global organization that connects ambitious students with international companies to provide high-quality internship experiences. This partnership exemplifies our commitment to excellence, as evidenced by the fact that MCI Group Welcomes University of Oregon Interns Through Partnership with The Intern Group.

Through this partnership, we were introduced to students from the University of Oregon, and after thoughtful discussions with our Human Resources Department, we welcomed three interns to our Madrid offices. Each of them brings a different academic background and professional interest, and each has been integrated into a different department within MCI Group.

A Cross-Department Learning Experience

The three interns are currently contributing to:

  • Operations, where they gain insight into international case coordination, provider communication, and the structured processes that support medical assistance across multiple regions.
  • Administration, where they are exposed to the financial, organizational, and compliance frameworks that sustain a global assistance company.
  • Medical Assistance, where they observe how our teams manage patient cases, communicate with healthcare providers, and support insured individuals during complex situations.

This cross-department exposure reflects our commitment to providing a comprehensive and realistic understanding of the international assistance industry. Our goal is not only to assign tasks, but to offer meaningful involvement in daily operations, encouraging critical thinking and professional growth.

Connecting Academia and Industry

International medical assistance is a highly specialized field that combines healthcare knowledge, logistics, legal frameworks, communication skills, and cultural awareness. It is rarely covered in depth within traditional university curricula. By opening our doors to students from diverse academic disciplines, we help bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world practice. At the same time, we benefit from the fresh perspectives, analytical skills, and curiosity that young professionals bring to our teams. This collaboration also reflects our broader philosophy: sustainable growth depends on knowledge transfer. Investing in talent today strengthens the resilience and professionalism of the industry tomorrow.

A Global Perspective in a Multicultural Environment

MCI Group operates across Europe and Latin America, coordinating medical assistance for travelers, expatriates, insured clients, and corporate partners worldwide. Our Madrid office represents a dynamic, multicultural environment where languages, healthcare systems, and regulatory frameworks intersect daily. For the interns from the University of Oregon, this experience provides:

  • Exposure to international case management
  • Understanding of cross-border healthcare coordination
  • Insight into compliance and confidentiality standards
  • Practical knowledge of teamwork in a time-sensitive industry

For our teams, it is an opportunity to mentor, share expertise, and reinforce the values that define MCI Group: responsibility, precision, collaboration, and respect.

A Commitment to Responsible Growth

This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to responsible corporate development. Welcoming interns is not simply an educational exercise. It is a reflection of our belief that companies have a role to play in shaping future professionals and contributing to global knowledge exchange. We are grateful to The Intern Group for facilitating this connection and to the University of Oregon for encouraging its students to seek international experience. Most importantly, we thank our interns for their enthusiasm, professionalism, and willingness to learn. As MCI Group continues to expand its global footprint, we remain dedicated to fostering talent, strengthening international partnerships, and building a healthcare assistance ecosystem that combines expertise with human commitment.

The future of international medical assistance depends not only on systems and technology, but on people. We are proud to invest in both.
