Leadership Updates at MCI Group: Celebrating Excellence, Inclusion and the Leaders Shaping Our Future
Leadership is one of the foundations that allows MCI Group to grow, innovate and deliver trusted healthcare and assistance services around the world. Behind every operational milestone and every successful partnership stands a team of dedicated professionals whose expertise and vision guide our organization forward.
This March, we are proud to celebrate two leadership milestones that reflect the talent, commitment and values that define our company. The appointments of Agathi Kanellou and Marcela Herrera mark an important moment for MCI Group, one that highlights not only professional achievement, but also the inclusive and merit-driven culture we continue to cultivate.
The timing is particularly meaningful. As the world recognizes Women’s History Month, these leadership developments serve as a powerful reflection of the environment we strive to build: one where dedication, talent and leadership are recognized and celebrated.
A Global Vision in Action: Agathi Kanellou as Global COO
At the center of MCI Group’s operational leadership stands Agathi Kanellou, who serves as Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the organization.
In this role, Agathi plays a critical part in ensuring that MCI Group’s global strategy is effectively translated into operational excellence across all regions. Working closely with our CEO, Fátima Guillén, she oversees the coordination of international operations and supports the leadership teams that drive our activities worldwide.
Her role touches nearly every part of the organization: from aligning global operations and strengthening operational efficiency to supporting regional leadership and ensuring that the company’s high standards of quality, governance and service are consistently upheld.
Within the Group’s leadership structure, the Global COO serves as the second executive authority, ensuring coordination across MCI Group’s companies and supporting the strategic vision that guides our growth.
Agathi’s leadership journey reflects the professionalism, discipline and forward-thinking approach that have long characterized her work. Her ability to balance strategic oversight with operational clarity continues to strengthen the foundation upon which MCI Group’s global network operates.

A New Chapter for MCI Assist: Marcela Herrera Appointed Managing Director

Her leadership has been instrumental in navigating complex operational challenges while maintaining the high standards of service and reliability that our clients and partners rely on. Through strategic insight and a collaborative leadership style, she has helped shape MCI Assist into a dynamic and trusted partner within the global medical assistance and cost containment landscape.
As Managing Director, Marcela will continue guiding the organization with the same professionalism and vision that have defined her career, supporting the continued growth and operational excellence of MCI Assist.
Celebrating Leadership, Merit and Inclusion
Beyond their titles and responsibilities, these leadership appointments represent something deeper for MCI Group.
They reflect a company culture built on recognition, opportunity and trust in people’s potential. At MCI Group, leadership is shaped by dedication, collaboration and the ability to inspire teams and create impact.
That these milestones take place at the beginning of March carries symbolic importance. During a time when the world celebrates the achievements of women throughout history, we are proud to recognize the remarkable contributions of women who continue to shape our organization every day.
