Standing with Venezuela: MCI Group Mobilises Humanitarian Aid After the Earthquakes
Following the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on 24 June 2026, MCI Group companies joined forces to support the communities facing the immediate consequences of the disaster.
This crisis is deeply personal for many of us. Across MCI Group, many of our colleagues, including doctors, case managers, operators and professionals from every department, have family and close friends in Venezuela. Several saw their loved ones directly affected by the earthquakes. Our response was therefore driven not only by our commitment to corporate social responsibility, but also by our connection to the people and communities impacted.
Each company within MCI Group contributed €6.000, creating a collective humanitarian fund of €24.000. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to social responsibility and duty of care, values that guide both our professional activity and our response when communities face urgent humanitarian needs.
From Commitment to Action
From the outset, we agreed to divide the contribution into two complementary humanitarian initiatives. Half of the funds would address immediate medical and nutritional needs, while the remaining half would provide essential survival supplies, including baby nappies, torches, mattresses, tents, portable power stations and other critical items for families who had lost their homes and belongings.
Due to the logistical constraints currently affecting Venezuela, the first €12.000 has already been deployed through the humanitarian NGO Farmamundi, allocated as follows:
- €6.000 for essential medicines and first-aid materials.
- €6.000 for food supplies for affected families and communities.
This humanitarian assistance will be delivered in Venezuela by the Spanish Red Cross, Farmamundi’s operational partner on the ground, helping ensure that medicines and food reach the communities most affected by the disaster.
Following the earthquakes, Farmamundi activated its emergency response to support the affected population by coordinating the delivery of essential medicines, healthcare materials and emergency supplies through its humanitarian network.
Why Part of the Aid Is Still Awaiting Shipment
The remaining €12.000, originally allocated to survival supplies, has not yet been deployed due to the severe logistical challenges affecting the country.
The earthquakes significantly disrupted operations at Simón BolÃvar International Airport in MaiquetÃa, Venezuela’s main international gateway, limiting the arrival of humanitarian cargo during the critical first weeks after the disaster. Although alternative routes have been established through Arturo Michelena International Airport in Valencia, transporting large volumes of relief supplies by air remains extremely difficult.
For this reason, we have adapted our response. Further collection of the remaining humanitarian supplies, including baby nappies, torches, mattresses, tents and portable power stations etc, is being undertaken, at our Madrid offices. As soon as logistics permit, they will be shipped by sea in containers, the most reliable solution to ensure they safely reach the affected communities.
While this approach requires more time, it allows us to maintain our commitment to delivering the assistance exactly as planned.

By combining our resources and working alongside an experienced humanitarian organisation such as Farmamundi, we aim to transform solidarity into meaningful support for those affected by the earthquakes.
This humanitarian effort continues. The remaining supplies will be shipped as soon as logistical conditions allow, ensuring they reach the families who need them most.
