MCI Latam Hosts the IAG EduTour in the Dominican Republic
From December 2 to 6, our headquarters in Puerto Plata will become the launch point for a very special event: the IAG EduTour – Dominican Republic. Organized by MCI Latam in collaboration with the International Assistance Group (IAG), this professional tour will bring together assistance industry leaders for an in-depth look at the country’s healthcare and logistics network.
Participants will begin their journey in Miami, where they will attend a one-day healthcare summit featuring key industry discussions and a site visit to one of our partners, Jackson Memorial Hospital. Following the summit, the group will fly directly from Miami to Puerto Plata to begin the EduTour.

A Journey into the Heart of Assistance in the Caribbean
Over five days, we will host an immersive itinerary that travels through key cities and top tourist destinations in the Dominican Republic. The program includes visits to a curated selection of hospitals, private clinics, air and ground ambulance providers, and other strategic partners who are essential in delivering care and support to international patients.
This initiative will allow participants to engage directly with the professionals and facilities that form the backbone of our assistance network in the Dominican Republic.
Understanding the Full Assistance Journey
The primary goal of the EduTour is to offer a comprehensive view of the medical and logistical circuit we manage for tourists and foreign residents who may require care during their stay.
From the moment an incident, illness, or emergency occurs, our teams are activated to coordinate:
-
Initial response and triage
-
Specialist consultation
-
Transfer to appropriate medical centers
-
Follow-up care or medical evacuation if needed
By visiting the actual institutions involved in this process and speaking with frontline professionals, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the operational, cultural, and logistical challenges, and how they are expertly managed within our network.
Strengthening Global Collaboration
As proud members of IAG, we see this EduTour not only as an opportunity to showcase our local expertise but also to foster stronger connections between international assistance providers. Through collaboration, learning, and shared experiences, we continue to raise the standard of care for travelers and expats across the globe.
Stay tuned for highlights from the tour. We’ll be sharing updates and insights as the EduTour unfolds.
